Strength training for shin splints?

Does anyone else suffer from shin splints? I’ve been trying to get into running and focus on my cardio but no matter how (slow paced, slight incline, etc) or where (treadmill, astro, grass) I run, I can’t get rid of my shin splints!

I’ve tried some stretches but they don’t seem to make much of a difference – I mean they help ease the pain a bit, but the pain is still there and it’s making it really hard for me to carry on running.

Does anyone have any tips for how to sort my shin splints? I was thinking maybe trying strength training on whatever muscles are causing the shin splints might be then answer but it’s just a guess 🤔

I was told that going slower and setting your treadmill to a slight incline is supposed to help as shin splints are due to the impact of your body weight bouncing off the muscles in your legs every time you take a step… it never worked for me though 😂 I’ve heard good things about rolling and I’m currently trying it out, here’s the link to the vid I’m using – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eINxcDI2zeg
